The weather today fluctuated slightly but generally, there was very little wind, a flat water surface and overcast skies.

In total today we have seen 5 Humpback Whales, 2 Minke Whales, many Harbour Porpoises & 2 Seals. :0

Our 2 seals were just North of Akureyri and this is also where we spotted our 2 Minkes, both seen in the morning and one in the afternoon. The Humpback Whales did move about quite significantly throughout the day, but, by the late afternoon the locations were as follows: one just North of Akureyri (an unidentified individual); 2 together close to the green buoy (Camel and a second new individual non-fluking seen in the morning); another right on the beach just North of Hjalteyri (Magnea spending time possible resting in approximately in 5 meters of water); and lastly around a Kilometer further North of Magnea (another new individual shown here in the first picture).

A quick note regarding the picture above of Magnea, once again a piece of fishing net can be seen trailing off the left side of the fluke. This again looks to be just surface level caught on the barnacles, however, does look to be significantly more material attached than the previous time we witnessed this on Camel a couple of weeks ago. we will of course monitor the situation and observe any changes. It is a possibility that this is why we were seeing this individual swimming in the shallow water around Hjalteyri perhaps trying to remove it.
