The morning started with some clouds and light rain waking up the city of Akureyri. The wind was coming from the north bringing some waves with it so the sail out of the fjord was a nice adventure. Humpback whales were in between Hjalteyri and Grenivik during the day; however we could see more individuals close to Hrísey as well. Some individuals were solitary while other gather in pairs and even three in a group travelling out of the fjord. The highlight of the day happened during the last tour when one humpback breached several times. It also did tail slapping against the water few times before to keep going out of the fjord. At the same time it was raining heavier and we all got completely wet, but all agree it was worth it! Great last day of August!
