Well, not sure as what else can describe the whale watching conditions in Akureyri here at the moment except brilliant. Flat sea, no wind and a lot of sun from lunch time onward and our fantastic humpback whales made this day a great success. We went out on both the Rib boats and ´Hafsulan', our big boat and had the pleasure to observe 9 different humpback whales. Of course our four musketeers travelling together accompanied by 2 other individuals including our beloved 'dark knight' guaranteed the most impressive encounter. They were swimming close to the boat and enabled us to listen to them communicating. Their grunts and moans made many passengers smile. There is nothing comparable to being out at the fjord in totally calm conditions, engines are off and the only thing you hear is the sound of 6 whales surfacing. It gives you a feeling of being at ease with the wind, whales and waves. We are very happy and grateful that we can currently share these stunning experiences with our passengers so often. It truly is an experience not to be missed.
