Conditions were just perfect today in the morning: flat seas and incredible visibility. However, today was the "Breaching Day"! In the morning tour, we had two breaches from two humpback whales almost simultaneously. That was a surprising moment, and everyone was pleased as we got great pictures and videos of the whales. Conditions were still good in the afternoon, and the humpback known as "Giljagaur" did some repeated head slapping, and breached several times. We could also appreciate some harbour porpoises swimming around, and we finished the day feeling the water spray from the hot water falls close to Akureyri harbour. An enjoyable day with plenty of humpback breachings.
