Is there a better way to say goodbye to 2018 than with our Eyjafjordur Humpback whales? Certainly not! We went out today on a cloudy, windless morning, into what was meant to be our last whale watching trip of the year. Just about half an hour after the beginning of the trip we spotted two blows in the distance, quite close to each other. Two humpback whales were waiting for us, one of them surfacing quite relaxed and probably resting throughout the entire encounter. Unfortunately, we are cancelling tomorrow due to the stormy weather that is approaching the North of Iceland. Nonetheless we, and our Eyjafjordur whales, will be back on Tuesday with the beginning of a new year full of adventures and excitement!
