We sailed out in rainy and misty conditions, this seems to be the normal summer weather of 2018 here in Iceland. In Akureyri we have been a bit more lucky, but unfortunately the rain and mist have now also arrived here in the north. During the tours we had to make quite a trip out to see the whales. We have noticed during this season that the whales are often really far out in the fjord, apparently this season the fish is far out in the fjord.
We sailed past Hrisey and encountered a humpback whale, it was rolling in the water and making snake moves.
During the second trip we found two humpback whales, one of them was travelling and came up to the surface quite often. Unfortunately we were not able to spend a lot of time with the whales due to our long trip.
