What a start of the week - at least 8 Humpback whales spotted on our today! We sailed out from Akureyri almost all the way to Hrisey island, it took us a longer while but it was so worth it - we were surrounded by the whales from all sides. It was diffucult to decide which direction to look at. The sea conditions were really good and the weather a bit moody, but the whole scenery around us looked very dramatic, the sea was dark, the sky was dark with fog coming from the north, only the snow was reflecting the light and creating great contrast for the pictures. We had two incredible encouters when 2 Humpback whales decided to aproach us, it really seemed like they came to check us out as they were just meters away from us. Amazing day to be out there!
