Our humpbacks are going south in the fjord, and this morning it did´t take us too long to find the first individual. We sailed for 35 minutes with very flat conditions, when we spotted the first blow. It was one of the humpback whales that we had been watching the previous days and this animal was coming up quite often and surfacing even close to us. We spent a very good time with this whale then we moved a bit further north to see another humpback that was in the area. This second individual was our well known Aretha Frankfin!!! In our afternoon tour we spotted a Minke Whale and after a quick look at this species we saw the same 2 Humpback whales together and they have been surfacing all the time together and very calmly during our second tour. It was a very beautiful encounter! We are very happy to see that the whales are coming closer to Akureyri, so we can spend longer time enjoying this wonderful creatures!
