A stunning tour! We sailed out from Akureyri in beautiful weather and amazing sea conditions. We found a Humpback whale just outside Hauganes and it was one of our favorite whales this season - Iskona is back! The whale was very active and often coming to the surface. She was moving rather in the shallow waters, very close to the coastline so she was going for short dives and we’ve got lots of close encounters with her. During the tour we had a phone call that there is another Humpback whale a little further north than Dalvik, that got entangled in the fishing net - after few quick phonecalls it was clear that there are at least 3 boats coming to the rescue, including the coastguards so we decided not to go there as we couldn’t help anyway while having passengers on board. At the end of the tour we had another call that luckily the whale was released free from the net! What a great news. On the way back we enjoyed the snowy landscape in the sun, just stunning to see.
Departure today: Classic 13:00
