What a tour!! 5 Humpback whales, 1 Minke whale and calm sea all the way in the fjord! Today we could really enjoy what a true winter whale watching should feel like - not only we had plenty of whales surrounding us but also the conditions couldn’t be better! A special guest joined the tour - Vikur, a husky that loves whale watching and sometimes is joining us on the tours. This wonderful day we started from spotting a Minke whale just beyond Svalbardseyri. The whale was incredibly relaxed, frequently coming to the surface so we enjoyed his company for a while and headed out further north. South of Hrisey we spotted a first blow of a Humpback whale and soon after he went for a dive another 2 popped up just in front of us! We didn’t have to wait long to see two more behind us. We stayed there for the rest of the tour and there was almost no time for guidlines as the whales were coming up one after another all around us. Amazing day to be out there!
