Another week starts with amazing sightings! Today we had a little of north east wind on the tour which always means it’s good to dress warm or take one of our overalls. It was rather cold but the whole trip was a dream experience. We sailed out from Akureyri and it took us not more than 20 minutes to find a Minke whale the whale was actively feeding and keeping a distance from us so we stayed with him shortly and head out north to see if we can find something more. Just around Hjalteyri we spotted a blow and big group of birds feeding in one spot. We came closer and found 2 Humpback whales! It was a real fiesta! There was plenty of fish around us and both birds and whales were clearly enjoying it. We had plenty of opportunities to see them as they were frequently coming to the surface and birds were following the whales. At some point we noticed that the Minke whale was following us and eventually joined the Humpbacks. At the end of the tour we had a beautiful sighting of all 3 whales feeding together!
