A windy but sunny day full of wildlife awaited us today in the fjord. On all of our tours we were lucky enough to see up to 4 humpback whales and a lot of white-beaked dolphins (30-40) right at the entrance of Eyjafjordur. In the morning we also encountered a minke whale early on in our tour. It seemed a very playful day for all species. The dolphins were leaping out of the water, checking us out and even occasionally bow riding. Two humpback whales seemed to have a great time together, rolling around and socializing even with dolphins and harbor porpoises on one occasion. We felt extremely lucky to be able to observe these behaviors only from a few meters away. Definitely good and fun times in the fjord!
