Oh what difference a day can make. We say it on many of our tours that the whale presence in the fjord can change sometimes over night, but it does not happen too often; last night though it did. Throughout the night at least six humpback whales swam deep into the fjord. We found most of them just between Hauganes and Hjalteyri. Every whale was busy feeding individually and we just loved spending time with one while slowly traveling to the next individual and so on. Some familiar flukes like Cosmo could be seen, but new whales were spotted, too. We basically never had to wait more than 5 minutes until the next whale would pop up. Oh we really hope that these whales have come to stay for a while.
