Good evening, we had a lovely day in Eyjafjörður today! The weather was calm and sunny.
On our morning tour, we encountered our beloved Humpback Whale Ískona by the green buoy. After spenidng some time with her, we sailed further north and spotted plenty of more Humpback Whales by Hjalteyri! We had 10+ Humpbacks all around us and even surfacing directly next to our boat! What an incredible way to start the day, it was truly fantastic!
In the afternoon, we spotted five Minke Whales by the green buoy and then encountered seven Humpbacks further north in the area of Hjalteyri, just as we did on the morning tour. We had a few unbelievably close encounters, for example one time two of the Humpback Whales just came up right next to us while we were stopped to wait for the next encounter and they proceeded to calmly swim in front of our boat until they lifted their flukes for the deep dives. Just beautiful!
This was a spectacular day here in Eyjafjörður!
