What an incredible day in the fjord! Finally the wind has gone down and we sailed out all the way til the entrance of the fjord. On the morning tour we’ve got a phonecall about a pod of dolphins east of Hrisey but we weren’t able to find them, instead we sailed further north where we found a very calm Humpback whale. In the afternoon we came by the same are and the same whale kept us company throughout the tour - getting more and more curious, few times he popped up right next to the rib boat giving us and incredible show. Before heading back we decided to do a small circle a bit further north and we came across a big pod of white beaked dolphins! This species is not a regular visitor of the fjord and we’re always excited to see them! The pod was spreading north-west of Hrisey, south f Hrolsfker and north of Hrisey, so it was hard to estimate how many individuals could be in the area. At 17:00 we sailed again north of Hrisey, this time finding 3 Humpback whales & roughly 30-50 white beaked dolphins! Amazing day out there, we simply can’t wait to sail again tomorrow.
