What an amazing sunny day in Eyjafjörður. We got an impressive surprise in the harbor! A family of Long-Finned Pilot Whales with calves was swimming in Pollurinn and we had quite a show! We spotted them even before we got on the boat and they stayed very close to Akureyri until the afternoon. It was extremely special because we only rarely see Long-Finned Pilot Whales in our fjord. In the afternoon our RIB boat saw two active Humpback Whales swimming together and getting close to the boat by Hrísey. We also got lucky with birds today as we for example spotted two Northern Gannets and one of them was still juvenile.
