Happy New Year!! First tour of the year and 2 NEW HUMPBACK WHALES in the area! Today we sailed out in southern wind so the conditions were not the easiest and but we couldn’t been happier to find two new individuals in the winter scenery of the fjord. We sailed out all the way to Hrisey Island, were we spotted the first whale. He was heading south and diving for at least 12-14min and not fluking which made it clear we are dealing most likely with a resting whale. We stayed out for few surfacings and sailed out further north to check if we can find something more. East of Hrisey we found another Humpback whale and we had a call that there was another one seen in the area. We had few amazing encounters with that second whale but were not able to spot the third one, the sea at this point was quite rough and we soon started sailing back. Everyone on board could take great pictures and videos today! Perfect start for the new year!
