Another beautiful day in snowy Akureyri and 7-8 HUMPBACK WHALES on the tour! What a beginning of the year! Today we sailed out in calm seas and under the cloudy sky, the swell from the north was bigger than expected but it didn’t bother us or the whales. We spotted first blows on our way to Hrisey Island and at this point it became sure there’s more than one whale in the area. We found a group of 3 whales traveling together that after second encounter were joined by the 4th whale! There was 2 more Humpbacks close by and at least 1 - possibly 2 more in the area. The swell was making it hard to capture all the flukes in pictures but we had some amazing encounters out there and simply can’t wait to sail again!
