Today we departed from Akureyri on a slightly frozen Pottlurin, in to a glassy fjörð. The wind started picking up along the morning, but both our Classic and Express had ideal conditions for sightings. We had plenty of sightings throughout the day.

First of all we encountered 2 Minke whales just south of Hjalteyri quite sneaki so tour resumed further north where South of Hrísey there where our guides identified over 5 different Humpback whales, but there were a couple more on the distance, probably up to 10!

On the way back as well we got surprised by very close encounters of a couple of very curious Harbor Porpoises.

Departures of the Day: Classic - 0900 & 1400 o’clock. Express - 1000 o’clock.
