Today we had a bit of a wavy day, but the sun was peaking behind the clouds every now and then and the temperature was not feeling very cold.

The morning tour was very different from the evening. During the morning we had a very nice encounter in the area of Rauðavík, with 4 Humpback whales calmly surfacing around us, in a way that we were barely whale waiting.

But in the afternoon we had to sail further north where we first encountered a Minke whale, lounge feeding, it was quite impressive. And just as the minke was swimming all directions, Humpbacks started appearing…

First, a sneaky humpback, diving for up to 12 minutes; but then, BAM! 2 Humpback whales surfacing side by side, leaving everyone with a symle on the face. All of these was happening just East of Hrísey.

But we had one more surprise because on the way back on the same area as the morning one more Humpback whale surfaced just 80m from the boat, and that my friends was the perfect good bye for the day.

Can you believe it, a total of 8 Humpbacks i a day!

Departures of the day: Classic- 0900 & 1300 o’clock.
