Fairly flat sea conditions with some minimal southern wind.
Our first encounter came just a little north of Svalbarseyri where we saw a Minke Whale. This whale also lunged out of the water feeding for a brief moment making a swift yet gratifying encounter. We then sailed a little further to Hjaltery where we saw roughly 7 Humpback Whales, 4 close up and the others at a distance. We had several close encounter surfacing meters from the boat. Whales identified: Pretty Average, Bumpback, Jubilee & Inkblot. While here we also saw another, slightly larger, Minke Whale.
