Most of the fjord was calm and had clear skies with some amazing lights in our background. We continued sailing further out where the swell picked up a little bit but it wasn’t too bad at all. And then just at the northern tip of Hrisey we saw a blow in the distance and a whale arching his back. So we went and waited for a few minutes until this guy comes up again. We then saw 2 Humpback Whales together in the distance and checked them out. We even got close up to 15m. Again you could see the pectoral fins under water.
Out there waiting, we did experience some Christmas vibes by getting hit from a little snow, but it quickly cleared up again. We followed the 2 whales all the way to the lighthouse north of hrisey.
