Happy First day of summer! Today we are celebrating the official first day of summer in Iceland and we had a beautiful sunny day in Akureyri. The morning greeted us with a little bit of wind but it didn’t affect us at all. We spotted our first whale just north of Hjalteyri and it was the same individual as in the last few days. We decided to name him Albus Humpledore as the whale seems to be a magician with his impressive diving behaviour and ability to disappear in the middle of the tour and then pop out of nowhere right next to us! The highlight of the morning tour was also a special visitor on the boat, we had a very friendly husky joining us on the boat. We sailed out both in the morning and in the afternoon and the whale was active and feeding through out the whole day. We had many opportunities to take fantastic pictures and had close encounters on all the tours today. Amazing day out there!
