My dearest readers, check this
Calm water, not baddddd. Bit wet though, got better. But, definitely better then yesterday. We made our way out in the fjord to just around the South of Hrisey area. On our morning classic tour we saw three Humpback Whales, although, we could see more blows in the distance. All three had familiar flukes but two have been seen very regularly this year, one of which has 4 very strange bumps on its sides that appear to be some sort of skin disease or injury/bite, I´ve been calling this badboi The Bumpback Whale. Mr. Bumpback was hanging out with another individual surfacing and diving together. This was a particularly awesome sight and something we don´t commonly observe because of their proximity and interesting movements. The second whale was always just behind the first whale and just before the dive it would diverge apart and then immediately converge back together and almost make contact with the fluke of the first whale with its head. This specific movement was something I´ve not seen before, but, made even more interesting by the fact I´ve seen these 2 together before several times as well as both often appearing in pairs with other whales.
