Hello everyone!

Sunny and a bit windy day today in the fjord! We continue having very nice sightings, September is being amazing for whale watching in Eyjafjörður. In the morning tours we spotted the whales just after the town of Hjalteyri, first, 2 Humpback whales swimming and diving synchronized. Then, while we were waiting for the whales to come back to the surface again, a third Humpback whale popped out. The wind started to pick up a bit, but the whales were still surfacing close, and suddenly, one of the whales BREACHED! how cool is to see that behavior.

In the afternoon tours, we went to the same spot where we saw the whales in the morning. And there, we spotted 5 humpback whales. This time we saw another behavior, tail trhowing, a bit different than tail slapping and spectacular to witness. The wind ceased and the sun kept shinning so we had an incredible way back to Akureyri.
