What a cold but exciting day! We sailed out today in very cold, but mostly calm weather with a little wind, that created smaller waves further north in the fjord.
While we spotted the first blows just west of Grenivík, we saw several Humpback Whales already within the first encounter! We saw two Humpbacks swimming together in a pair as well as two Humpbacks each swimming by themselves. So we observed a total of four Humpbacks close to us in this area, all while we could spot more blows further north! We estimated the number of Humpback Whales in the area to be at least 7, possibly even more.
It was great to watch the four individuals resurface over and over again close by in our area and we had plenty of beautiful encounters on this winter day in the fjord!
