Surely a breeze day with strong S wind. Relatively warm on the other hand, and sunshine in the afternoon.
Just like yesterday, shortly after leaving out harbor a Minke Whale surfaced right in front of us. But today was different, another one showed up on the other side of the boat. Again very far south, even south of Svalbardseyri. On our fish finder we noticed a large amount of fish about 30-50m deep. Most likely what those Minke Whales were feeding on.
We kept going north after some nice encounters with the Minkes and spotted 2 Humpback Whales. One of them rather large, who we know very well. Internationally it’s known as Porcupine. We enjoyed plenty of encounters with these guys and then headed back to Akureyri. The two Humpbacks were feeding SE of the Green buoy.
