Hello all whale and nature lovers,

Today we sailed out of the harbor in clear, slightly cooler weather with -16 degrees. The water level was very calm and, like yesterday, fog formed on it today, creating a beautiful scenery. We explored the harbor of Pollurinn, where we saw whales the previous days, and soon headed north. With a beautiful sunrise and the sky colored in magical colors as well as the mountain peaks, we enjoyed the view of the fjord.

And suddenly one whale fin, followed by another… We knew that we had at least two Humpback Whales under the water surface and we had to wait until they needed to breathe again. After about 7 minutes, one whale exhaled and two more after it.. So we had three Humpback Whales in front of us and one of them was Piccolo. And it looked like he was with new friends. I noticed from the color of the whales' tails that he was with two other whales about a week ago. It's very interesting. Humpback Whales usually travel alone, although sometimes they can be seen in smaller groups, which mostly don't last long. It looks like Piccolo really likes company. Even though we saw him alone yesterday, today he was in the company of other whales again. It also looks like Piccolo, in the company of three whales, is the first to surface, he also dives under the water surface first and the other two whales followed him. Could he be the leader of the group for a moment? Who knows… Until we decipher the language of whales, we won't know the answer. Until then, we can only interpret what we see with the knowledge we have about whales…

A wonderful last day of the old year and we can't wait to see what whale experiences 2025 will bring us.
