Greetings!
Our whale-watching trip started off with high hopes, as the morning was quite sunny. However, as the day went on, clouds rolled in from the south, covering the sun. The wind was moderate coming from south pushing us towards North, which made us reach Hrísey faster, yet on the way back it was playing against the clock.

As we sailed out through the fjord knowing the last position of a whale near Hrísey, the weather turned a bit gloomy, and as we could not find anything we began to wonder if we were in for a disappointing outing. Just as we started to lose hope, the sun peeked through the clouds again, and that's when we saw it—a magnificent blow in the distance! To the south of us towards Hjalteyri, a Humpback Whale was swimming in circles around Hauganes. The sunlight revealed the blow and gave us a glimpse of the whale, making the second half of the trip unforgettable!
