Today, we sailed out in good weather conditions with little wind, which picked up slightly further north in the fjord.
We spotted plenty of different bird species along the way, such as Northern Gannets, Northern Fulmars, Guillemots and Long-tailed Ducks, as well as several pods of Harbor Porpoises and two Minke Whales just north of Akureyri!
Additionally, we spotted a blow west of Hrísey: a Humpback Whale! Finally, we got to encounter two Humpbacks, which surfaced several times in the same area as we watched them take their breaths at the surface and lift their tails beautifully before going for the next deep dive.
What a great day with amazing cetaceans in Eyjafjörður!
