The day started with an amazing clear summer weather and quite sea, but slowly the wind strengthened from the North until it got a bit bumpy in the fjord. But of course it didn't stop the whales, and us, from having a great time. The change in weather seemed to have awakened our lovely humpback whales. In the morning the six individuals we watched were either quietly feeding or enjoying a lazy rest. But in the afternoon the whales got a bit more agitated with one nice tail slap on the surface and our all time favourite "Awesome Fluker" putting on a show by breaching right next to our boat. Whatever the weather, the humpback whales are always ready to cheer us up in Eyjafjörður.
