Discover the majestic
EYJAFJORD HUMPBACKS
~ on the original Whale Watching tour from Akureyri ~
The Classic Whale Watching is a 2,5-3,5 hr. family-friendly sightseeing tour that takes you into Eyjafjörður where you can experience the unparalleled comfort and stability of our ship whilst viewing the sights of the fjord under the commentary of one of our excellent guides. We will teach you all about the whales and nature in the surrounding area as well as answering any questions!
At the northcentral coast of Iceland the 60 km long and narrow fjord of Eyjafjörður stretches inland. There, nutritious and cold waters from the north are carried with coastal currents inside the deep fiord. The rivers responsible for providing this coastal area with freshwater runoff, loaded with various nutrients, are Svarfaðardalsá river and Hörgá river to the west, the Eyjafjarðará river at the bottom of the fiord and Fnjóská river to the east.
This 1,5-2,5 hr. Express whale watching is a small group tour on custom made 12 seater RIB boats, that can get you closer and faster to the optimal whale watching areas. This means a bigger chance of spotting whales, dolphins and bird life with out disturbing any natural behaviours. We guarantee an intimate and up close experience in Iceland's longest fjord!
Why not make the most of your time in Iceland and do more than two tours in one day? We have put together a few exciting tour options for you to enjoy a full day of fun and breathtaking outdoor adventures in the Icelandic nature. We are open to new ideas, so if you are looking for tours that are not on our list, please make sure to contact us directly and we'll help you set up your perfect combo tour for your perfect experience!
