Snow covered mountains have become a constant sight here in Akureyri and surroundings. Overnight we had a storm passing the north of Iceland, but luckily it had calmed down enough so that we could go out on the one o’clock tour. Still there were some swells to face which did not trouble anyone on board and made sailing more exciting. At points we even got to enjoy blue skies and the sun warming our faces. The humpback whale we started and ended the tour with was Harley. In between it felt a little bit like a small reunion with Tattoo, Jackson, D’Artagnan and Max were all busy feeding all around the boat and really surprised us many times when they did separate and then come back up together. On the way back we could also welcome a few Northern Fulmars back in the fjord which seemed to have vanished for a while. After a few days of rain we are looking forward towards the good weather that is predicted for tomorrow.
