What a winter beginning! Stunning colours in Eyafjordur. Today we sailed out in just dream conditions, clear sky, flat seas and full sun. Recent days have been much warmer so the snow on the mountains started melting again and we get to admire now half winter half autumn landscape. We found a Humpback whale in the same area as yesterday and it was again Iskona. The whale was active and feeding and we had two very nice encounters as the whale came very close to check us out and popped up right next to the boat. At some point of the tour we decided to go further north and we found a small pod of Harbour Porpoises which were cheerfully jumping right in front of us. On the way back we got to see the same Humpback whale as before and we were observing him surfacing few more times before we started heading back to Akureyri.
Departures today: Classic 13h
