Temperatures are dropping down again, and close to Akureyri everything is frozen. In the morning we have gone out on our boat Konsull, driving slowly while breaking the ice. We have been looking for Iskona, but today it was a little bit tricky. It took us a while to find this Humpback Whale and when we eventually did it, the whale was diving for long times and traveling long distances. But with a little bit of patience and persistence, we managed to have some very close up encounters. Iskona even breached 10 meters away from our boat! Unfortunately it was totally unexpected and nobody on board could take a picture of it, but it will be something that for sure will remain on our memories for a long time.
