The longest tour this year but so worth it! Today we sailed out all the way to the entrance of the Fjord. North of Hrisey, we found two small pods of White-Beaked dolphins! We had a bit windy conditions and at some point the weather started rapidly changing, the sky was dark and cloudy, fog was getting thicker and dolphins were not easy to follow in the waves so we decided to head back and scan the other side of the Fjord. We made a loop around Hrisey and spotted Northern Gannets! a very rare and unexpected to see birds in our area. The great surprise happened at the end of the tour, right before Akureyri we found a Humpback whale, most likely it was again Iskona but it’s hard to tell as the whale was actively feeding without showing up the fluke.
