What a welcome back we received today on the fjord. This morning was cloudy but dry with only a little wind, we cruised out on our wonderfully fast RIB boat and found ourselves numerous Harbour porpoises to watch as they surfaced up out of the water. Later on we found a Minke whale that we were able to watch for a while as it surfaced under many flocks of sea birds that were busy feeding. Going further out a humpback whale lunged out of the water and we were able to watch this magnificent animal as it gorged itself on fish under the water and surfaced for a breath. Our afternoon classic tour was a little more windy but still very enjoyable as the sun came out to greet us on the way back. During this tour not one but three humpback whales were out to play, two of which were surfacing fairly close to each other which was really cool to see and one even surprised us by suddenly popping up right next to the boat! A wonderful start to a beautiful weekend.
