Breach! Today we were insanely lucky to see a breaching humpback whale for the first time this season! The morning tour we started from finding a Minke whale, but only for a moment as we spotted big splashes north of Hjlateyri. The sea conditions were not easy today and wind was coming straight from north so trying to get there as quickly as possible, resulted with waves coming in and making us completely wet but it was very much worth it. There were at least 4 individuals surrounding us and one of them was having really good time - keep jumping out of the water, being very acrobatic and rolling in the water showing us both flippers and the tail. In the afternoon tour we didn’t have to go that far - whales came deeper into the fjord and we enjoyed the company of two very relaxed Humpback whales.
