What a day! 4-6 Humpbacks, 2 Minke Whales & lots of bird life. Rainy morning was a bit discouraging to go out, but we sailed out on time heading towards north. Our first cetacean of the day was a harbour porpoise - usually we don’t stop for them as they tend to be shy around the boats, but it was a great call to stay as right in front of us popped up a small Minke Whale. This one was hard to follow and staying long under water, but not far from him we found another one, very relaxed Minke. We stayed there for a bit and continue going north where we found 3 Humpback whales. In the afternoon, we didn’t see Minke whales but just around Grenivik we got surrounded by Humpbacks! We were sure of 4 different individuals, but most likely it was more and we spotted few more blows also further out north. Let’s hope they will come closer tomorrow!
