A wonderful day to view the fjord today, It was rather warm and not too windy as we headed out, which was rather lucky as we found we had quite a way to travel today before we found our beloved whales. However, during our journey we found some cute little harbour porpoises to watch and sometime later even some playful white-beaked dolphins which are quite a rarity to our fjord, which popped up just wonderfully along side us. As we were viewing the delightful dolphins we saw a big blow in the distance which turned out to be not just one, but two happy humpback whales, who thrilled us with some truly wonderful close encounters. During one of which a humpback suddenly surfaced right next to the boat at the back and then swam right under us to surface on the other side! Our classic tour took us slightly north of Hrisey island where we again found the delightful white-beaked dolphins, which also has a few little calves with them which was super beautiful to see. We also encountered not one but four humpback whales who were surfacing all the way around the boat! Yet another beautiful day in the North!
