A beautiful day to sail the fjord, it was cloudy but warm and there wasn´t much wind. After sailing for about 40 minutes we got our first glimpse of a beautiful humpback whale. This whale was coming up very regularly and even showing its fluke or tail almost every time it surfaced, which is very special to see! After watching this whale for a while another humpback join the party, and began surfacing in the same area. So we had one whale on one side of the boat and another on the other. At some points they came together but then again started surfacing on either side of the boat. Throughout the tour we got to see a lot of bird life including the northern fulmar and arctic tern and a few harbour porpoises here and there as well. A wonderful day to experience the Icelandic nature.
