Whoever said Monday´s are the worst could not be more wrong! Today was exceptionally beautiful. This morning the fjord was mirror flat, there was hardly any windy and the glorious sun was shining! We traveled a very, very long way to see our wonderful cetaceans this morning, almost all the way to the end of the fjord! Throughout the tour we enjoyed the cute little harbour porpoises that popped up at regular intervals and later we found some wonderful white-beaked dolphins, who gave us a glorious show and even started jumping and leaping abut just meters from the boat. Then in the distance we spotted a wonderful humpback whale. This wasn’t just any whale either this whale was incredibly special to us as its one we have in our catalog but it hasn’t been seen here since 2016! So was super amazing to see the wonderful “Loftur” again. On our afternoon classic tour we were expecting to travel a fair bit before seeing whales, however, this was not the case. After only sailing for 30 minutes our captain spotted a wonderful humpback whale. This whale is also one we know very well, and is called “Old Whitey” due to the scarring on his back. This whale delighted us with some truly amazing close encounters and many, many high flukes. Yet another beautiful day out on the fjord.
