It was perfect whale watching conditions today, calm seas, cloudy skies (which provides a better contrast, allowing us a better chance to spot the whales) and very little wind. Today we had to sail almost the whole length of the fjord to find our cetaceans, but this allowed us to see Eyjafjörður in all her glory and she was just magnificent. Our morning classic tour spotted lots and lots of little harbour porpoises and a minke whale. The Minke unfortunately, didn´t surface very often and not all our passengers were able to take a good look at it and therefore, complimentary tickets were given out. Our afternoon tour had much more success and found not one but three pods of white-beaked dolphins which were just incredible, not only were they surfacing right next to the boat and occasionally swimming right underneath us but the second pod even started breaching, jumping and twisting into the air. It was an exceptional sight, seeing even the little juvenile dolphins leaping and twisting through the air, was just adorable and the fact that they were doing this just meters from the boat was a wonderful bonus.

Tours today: Classic: 09:00 & 13:00
