It´s always a delightful day when a old friend suddenly walks or in this case swims back into your life. We were delighted to find our incredible “Iskona” our beloved humpback whale had return to the fjord after a year a half of absence. Iskona was first seen in August 2019 then stayed in the fjord for at least 8 months. The longest recorded period in this area. Along with our fabulous iskona another humpback whale was spotted throughout the day, this one we also knew as “Cosmos” who has been delighting us this past month. Some beautiful little harbour porpoises and even a minke whale were spotted today on our afternoon tour, which was just delightful. It was a little rainy and cold today but the whales are well worth facing the Icelandic weather for.
