Whale soup was on the menu today! The preferred dish of all our passengers. Today we had perfect conditions, the fjord was super flat, basically no wind and clear skies. Our morning express tour saw some wonderful Minke whales, some wonderful harbour porpoises and a beautiful humpback whale. The afternoon classic sailed a little further than we have been the last few days, however, we were not disappointed as we managed to spot many cute harbour porpoises on the way. We also spotted three minke whales popping up beautifully throughout the tour. The best by far however, was the whale party we sound by the south end of Hrisey. An approximate 8 humpback whales were happily feeding away and surfacing near and far around the boat. On a few occasions while we sat with engines off a humpback popped up just a few meters away, giving us an exceptional look at its beautiful body and tail fluke. Some of the humpbacks we could name including “Cosmos”, “Inkblot”, “Bruce Whalis” and Captain underpants! The last of which we haven’t seen in almost 2 years! What an awesome day!
