There was only one thing on the menu today, whale soup! And everyone was delighted with it! On our morning tour we weren’t even 15 minutes out of harbour when we found our first humpback whale. This beautiful whale surfaced quite a few times before we decided to move further out into the fjord. Where we found another two humpback whales popping up about 100-200 meters away from each other. We watched these wonderful whales for a while and were even able to spot many more whales in the distance. Our afternoon tour found a fjord full of whales, near Hjalteyri we encountered two whales surfacing together, our famous “Tough Pella” and “Cosmos”. When these two went for a dive three more humpback whales were popping up at varying distances but all within three hundred meters. We could recognise two of these as “Jubilee” and “Fish & Ships”. We even saw more blows and signs of whales in the distance. What a wonderful whale filled day!
