Challenging tour today but 4 whales! Today we went out much further than in recent days as we’ve got a phone call about 8 Humpback whales seen around Hrisey so we aimed to find them! On our way out we found a Minke whale, same as yesterday! We didn’t really plan to stop early but since he popped up right in front of us we decided to stay with him for a while. As soon as we passed Hjalteyri the conditions have changed rapidly. We were sailing against 10 meter swell and it was really hard to spot animals. We managed to find 2 very relaxed Humpback whales east of Hrisey but due to swell it was very hard to follow on them. We had few nice encounters, one of them was not fluking and the other seems to be a new one in the area.
