This morning we went out on the water very excited as we were expecting a solar eclipse during the tour! Unfortunately the sky was too cloudy and we didn’t see any spectacular sun show in the sky, but we found a Humpback whale just outside of Akureyri! The whale was moving very close to the coastline and going for shallow dives but going quite far distances, so we went futher out north to check if we can find somehing more. The sky has cleared up but the wind picked up and we didn’t find that whale again. In the afternoon we went out on Express tour and sailed all the way to north of Hrisey where we found plenty of bird life and another Humpback whale, joyfully feeding next to us!
