Great sailing conditions today with little wind, calm seas and sun popping out from the clouds now and then. Our morning tours sailed almost the whole fjord and saw lots of bird life including black guillemots, common loons, northern fulmar, kittiwakes, arctic tern and many puffins. We also managed to see harbour porpoises which popped up to give us a look at their cute little forms. Later on we found large pods of white-beaked dolphins who surfaced wonderfully all the way around the boat. They were all spread out around the north of Hrisey and there was even a few calves with them, which is a delight to see. Our afternoon tour was slightly less successful and only managed to spot a few harbour porpoises so passengers were given complimentary tickets. However, our evening tour had quite a spectacular encounter with some wonderful harbour porpoises and a very friendly humpback whale who surfaced multiple times raising its fluke almost every surface! A magical end to the day!
