A rainy, but calm Sunday awaited us on this October weekend. We sailed out from Akureyri eager to find whales, dolphins or porpoises. Just between Hrisey and Grenivik we found the hotspot of the day. At least 7 humpback whales were feeding in roughly the same area. We could just stop the boat and watch these gentle ocean giants dive up and down all around us. Many fluke shots, whale selfies and unforgettable moments were taken. Especially one moment will stay in people´s memory for a long time, when a whale approached us and dove just a few meters away from us; whale breath in your face guaranteed!. Additionally, we saw harbor porpoises and northern bottlenose whales from far. What a great way to spend a Sunday!

During the Express tour at 14:00 weather was nice and sunny , we saw at least five humpback whales and one minke by Hauganes, and five northern bottlenose whales by TDK factory
